Heading Home currently owns and operates 10 properties that both house and serve clients. In addition, we secure housing subsidies from both state and federal sources and use them to rent apartments on the private rental market. Currently, Heading Home has roughly households in shelter and supportive housing with about people residing in these units.

Across all programs, Heading Home provides direct services to more than 1, Greater Bostonians annually. What We Do. The three types of shelter are: Congregate Shelter. Co-Shelter Scattered Site. Scattered Site. For Families. For Individuals. The Residential Programs offer an array of permanent supportive housing programs, providing subsidies and supportive services to families and individuals living with HIV who are exiting homelessness.

Our programs include project-based rental assistance and tenant-based rental assistance. All households are offered intensive case management services and housing stabilization support.

Clients are referred through different sources, depending on the program, including the Coordinated Access systems in Cambridge and Boston, and by applying directly to AAC. Exchange currently closed: Please call our outreach team at Sign Up.
